Thanks for setting it up. Here is some news. Speaking of time flying, I have attached a picture of my two grandchildren. I swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco in September – came in third in my age group. I am planning on entering the 10K Open Water National Championship in July. It is too early to set a date for the next retreat, but I do plan on having one. -- Rob

Sesame Street Porn?

Did you know that famous song by the Muppets 'Mah na Mah na' is actually from a 60’s Swedish porno movie???

From Wikipedia

"Mah Nà Mah Nà" is a well-known pop music song, written by Piero Umiliani. It was a hit in many countries, including the USA, in 1968–1969. The song's lyrics contain no actual words, only nonsense words resembling scat singing. The original version interpolates melodies from "Swedish Rhapsody" ("Midsommarvaka" ("Midsummer Vigil")) by Hugo Alfvén, "Santa Lucia", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", the jazz standard "Lullaby of Birdland", and others.

"Mah Nà Mah Nà" debuted as part of Umiliani's soundtrack for the Italian softcore pornography movie Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso (Sweden, Heaven and Hell) (1968), a pseudo-documentary film about wild sexual activity and other behavior in Sweden ("Mah Nà Mah Nà" accompanied a scene set in a sauna). A soundtrack album, "Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso" was released in 1968. The movie was also released under the English title Sweden Heaven and Hell.

Not to be outdone, MOSE VIGODA MILBURN born Thursday, September 22, 8:34 pm, 6 pounds, 9 ounces, 19 inches long.

Miss Vanja Maars Booth!

Esther and I would like to introduce you all to our daughter, Miss Vanja Maars Booth!

She was born July 23, 2:17pm, weighing in at 7lb3oz, at Roosevelt Hospital, in glorious NYC (our first gift to her: bragging rights!)

SO: here are some pictures! The early ones, to be sure, but hey, we want to start at the beginning.

Cheers and Love to all, Esther, Lyle and Vanja

ps/btw/fyi: Vanja is the feminine Scandinavian spelling of Vanya, which is the patronymic of Ivan, which is Russian for John, which means “God is gracious”. Whew. Maars is short for Maarschalkerweerd, which is Es’s family name. Booth we pulled out of a hat.

J Milligan's JACK FISH

Milligan's debut novel, Jack Fish, a wacky sci-fi satire, sets an amphibian secret agent adrift in New York City.
